12.4.12 Election of 1796 - John Adam's Presidency


Objective: 
  • Historians of 2017 will practice proper classroom procedures when using Chromebooks
  • Historians of 2017 will (1) analyze the results of the presidential election of 1796; (2) describe the political conflicts during the presidency of John Adams

Task 1: (Do Now) In the presidential election of 1796, the two major candidates were John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. If you were Thomas Jefferson, what are some reasons you think Americans should vote for you for the next president of the United States? 

Task 2: Learn about John Adams at this website. Use this information to help you complete page one of your classwork.

Task 4: The Presidency of John Adams. Read the following pages and complete pages 2-3 of your classwork. You can learn more about the Alien and Sedition Acts at this website. We will discuss our responses to the classwork as a class.
